Vaganova Method

INTRODUCTION

The classical Russian ballet program taught by Ekaterina Menchikh is based on the well-respected Vaganova method. This is the same method that served as the foundation of her ballet training, helped her win the 1998 Prix de Meilleur Suisse  (Special Prize of the Jury from the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation) at the Prix de Lausanne  International Dance Competition in Switzerland, and placed her among the world's best dancers under the watchful eye of Heinz Spoerli, one of Europe's highly-regarded choreographers and the director of the Zurich Opera Ballet.

Since 2004, Ekaterina has been teaching ballet in the U.S., following a number of critically-acclaimed choreographic  contributions in Russia, such as in the International Ballet Competition and Contest of Choreographers, as well as for the renowned Voronezh Choreography Institute (Russia), and in Switzerland, while attending the prestigious  Schweizerische Ballettberufsschule (SBBS), a.k.a. Swiss Professional Ballet School.

In October 2007, Ekaterina Dance Studio, LLC (EDS) was  established in Las Vegas. Not so much an institution as it is a professional ballerina's legacy, its ballet program was the first Russian ballet course in the U.S. recognized in Europe for its premier competition-grade preparatory program intended to comply with the entry standard for the Prix de Lausanne International Dance Competition. Its characteristic rigors effectively produce champions and competition-ready students in a very short time, not only for those in ballet but also for those competing in ice skating and gymnastics.

Although, Ekaterina's core ballet training course is "Russian" in many respects, it has been tempered to suit American students who are serious about the art. Nevertheless, for students seeking only to satisfy curiosity and leisurely interest, Ekaterina has ballet courses appropriate by age group and ability.

Whether you are looking to become a high-caliber professional dancer, a world-class competitor, an accomplished specialty performer, an able ballet dancer, or just keeping yourself physically fit (slender, powerful and beautiful like a ballerina), your EDS experience is sure to be unparalleled.

With an EDS training, expect the best-quality instruction reserved only for the uncompromising student. Ekaterina is passionate about dance, and it shows through her long-standing students' performances, repertoires, and choreographic projects, which have been critiqued, praised, and adopted in international competitions, from Moscow to Zurich.

Ekaterina and EDS bring to Las Vegas a truly world-class performing arts experience, knowledge, and skill that has seen development in Europe for the past 23 years. You are encouraged to join Ekaterina's ever-growing family of able dancers and fitness students, and take the first step to a rewarding experience that you will keep for life.

With that note, EDS welcomes you to a heightened level of fitness --mentally, physically, and competitively.

PERSONAL BALLET TRAINING

Ekaterina provides both one-on-one individual lessons and small-group classes for 2 to 5 students aiming for advanced-level training.

For non-competition training, she also provides both one-on-one private lessons as well as group classes, which are limited up to 10 students per class.

ENROLLMENT

Enrollment is open on a monthly, rolling basis. Each student may enroll at any time, with the beginning of each 6- or 12-month training option set to begin every first of the next month of enrollment. For example, if a student wishes to avail of a class on the 10 of May, the 6- or 12-month contract will show the commencement as 1 June.

Any classes availed of before that contract period will be considered as "walk-in/short-term". For example, all classes between 10 May and 31 May will be considered with a separate contract from the long-period enrollment contract and will require the appropriate contract for that period.

DISCOUNTS

Ekaterina loves dancing and choreography. She champions ballet for everyone and any one interested (in fact, any dancing, and not just as an art form, but as a form of exercise to keep fit and balanced with the mind).

With the establishment of EDS, the business side of the art is taken into consideration in order to keep the effort going in a practical and economical manner. In the current state of the economy, cost is a very sensitive issue with most students. With that in mind, to attract students and provide them a chance to try, cost breaks are offered by EDS.

Enrollment into the 6- or 12-month program provides for competitive rates augmented with discount incentives. For example, there is a referral discount upon extension of a class contract for every current student.

From time to time, additional special discounts are offered to existing students to encourage continuation in the program, or to new students who want to try but are hindered by costs.
